Small Business Cloud Security

A "Power Moves Philly" Live Webinar Event

M365 Small Business Cloud Security - Power Moves Philly

Resolve to Keep Intruders Out in 2021

Between the two sessions we will host on Small Business Cloud Security, we will focus on keeping intruders out.

The four most effective ways you can keep intruders out are:

  • Turn on “Safe-Attachments”
  • Turn on “Safe-Links”
  • Turn on multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all users
  • Block Legacy Authentication

We’ll cover Safe-Attachments and Safe-Links in part I – Email Security; and we will cover multi-factor authentication and blocking legacy authentication in part II – What’s Your Secure Score.

Envision that your everyday email inbox is like the front door of your business for cyber criminals. They can go through all the trouble of prying open windows and deactivating alarm systems; or they can stroll on through the front door if you or your employees let them in.

It could happen via malicious links, malware disguised as an email attachment, an instruction by a company executive, or an offer that’s too good to be true. Clicking on a link to unleash ransomware on your network or getting caught up in sophisticated impersonation schemes that yields company security credentials isn’t all that uncommon.

Safe Attachments and Safe Links are two components of Microsoft Defender for Office 365, formerly known as Advanced Threat Protection for Office 365. Enabling these two security settings will help reduce vulnerability to hacking, malware, and crypto-locker attacks through identity protection, and validating that email attachments and hyperlinks are safe before you click on them.

We will also dig into the the ABC’s of SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. You’ll learn how to protect the reputation of your email domain by preventing your email from being spoofed. This is important because your email domain name is your calling card, and the last thing you want is anybody to be able to send phony emails to your customers and suppliers purporting to be from you.

Along those lines, we’re often asked to “white list” the email address of trusted customers and suppliers — but what if those organizations have been compromised? Find out the right way to “white list” an email to while avoiding the vulnerabilities associated with emails emails that are not authenticated.

Find out how you can protect your business by putting systems in place that will cover all the bases. And you’ll be happy to know that you can improve your security while also maintaining operational efficiency with the high level of productivity, communication, and collaboration that you would expect from the Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Get started by attending this 50-minute presentation and demo on the cyber security threats for small businesses, and how you can quickly up your security profile. We will have time for Q&A after the presentation, so bring any questions you may have!

If you can’t wait until August 24th, we are offering complimentary consulting services to local Philadelphia area small businesses to assess your current cloud security profile including a customized plan to quickly get started with important cloud security safeguards.
